my last day in SCDF HQ

in the morning, i was sighing all the day...why wun i since it is my very last day! tell u frankly, i din know i miss the place that much...my heart was sinking for every minute that is passed by. the first thing i did was thinking that it will be the last ride i had in the scdf van which i took every morning to the HQ. I was literally looking sad on my way to HQ. i went to 10th floor and wanted to have my last chat with the colleagues but all are busy :( i went back to 11th flr and we discuss abt wat to present during the closing ceremony. Clara gt voted to be the leader so she is supposedly to be interviewed and saved as video which is to be presented during the ceremony. they are making fun of her coz she is very enthu and was very interested and 100% sure(she is crazily interested in scdf) that she will join scdf lol.. so i followed them to 10th flr and gt 'sabo' by them and i was included to be part of the interview coz they said i was the 2nd best intern (coz i was quite 'on' too and i know quite a few of people in scdf) in the scdf HQ out of the 5 people. sian but luckily i dunt have to witness myself being interviewed in the video during closing ceremony.... one of the 2 guys said i am gonna be the most popular person in scdf...i was like 'no comments' and full of 'dots'coz i think he meant that after the rest saw the interview, i am gonna be 'famous'.


so i waited for 10am for the tour ard paya lebar fire station. It was cool to see their drills. and the officer told us the major fire incident that took place near the paya lebar station nt long ago ( i ask my dad and he said it is nt published in the news yet so i guess i cannot elaborate then). I get to know the control station that call out people to be ready; be it the ambulance or the firemen or the dart. it is damn cool, i kinda rmb wat is the code and all the stuff for the few times of the staying in the dart dept and hearing the siren. i get to know the insides of the ambulance and the protocols....haha.....the person was a bit chatty and so, it dragged longer than expected ( i cant ride on the red rhino:( ). That is when i got a call from my supervisor. we quickly take a few pics b4 meeting my supervisor for lunch. They brought us to a seafood restaurant and the food wasnt bad at all! we wanted to treat them but they refuse...sigh...so we are paiseh all the time( my last meal with them :() i really truly enjoy my lunch with them...it is so much fun with their presence. Gossips again,haha. Then we chat a lot and return back to office and say goodbye to all of them. That is very very sad for me. but i still have to leave and go to central fire station where we see the exhibits and take photos and buy souvenirs. We got into a cool scdf vehicle there. haha...everytime take different scdf vehicle to the fire station.I bought the hazmat polo tee and seriously contemplating to buy their jacket. However, i did not buy coz i think i shd wait for the NUS windbreaker instead.haha. afterwhich,the 3 of us go and do some shopping at rafflescity and bought 2 cute nice cards and a super ex photo frame ( a total of 105bucks)....as the gifts for our supervisor coz she really has been taking gd care of us. A really really good person :). Then we go and eat swensens at suntec....again....20bucks gone. i ordered chili fish pasta and a chocolate dunno wat icecream fudge, my friend ordered grilled fish and a special order of coke with choco icecream ( i keep laughing at her coz she is a carnivore. she is very cute coz she duneat vegie and her dish only got fish, vegie and carrot...damn funny coz i keep teasing her..haha), the other friend had a lamb chop and mango set icecream. haha...all three of us used up 68plus in total. at abt 9pm, i reached cck and bought anti-fog solution and a waterproof swimming cap. Damn, today i spent abt 80bucks in total.haha.


i miss my scdf hq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i only bought polo tee and the badge as a souvenir (& probably the cd on us in cda and photos of us). i will definitely go to the exhibitions that is put up by the scdf or police force in the neighbourhood next time coz my 'crazy' leader said she is willing to go west with me ( she stayed in pasir ris, mind u)...told u that she is super crazy abt scdf.

we went CDA today and witness the firemen putting out fire and all the simulations there. it is ver cool! they try to make it like the real life incident cases...be it a fire or casualties hidden. we had 2 activities today. One is on the tear gas thingy. We wore a training suit....which is the grey one and the helmet and of course the mask and boots. i think i am used to breathing thru the BA. As i had a bit of flu today, it isnt easy for me coz i am able to detect the tear gas first. I can literally feel the burning sensation at my face even though i am wearing a mask. they told us to remove our mask after that and say out the name and nirc. It feels choky and my eyes are literally burning. they said my eyes got red...haha...only me lol. Either is due to my sickness or due to my poor health. anyway, i was sneezing after that but got well after a while....haha...think it is good for the flu? btw, the suit is damn hot, i was sweating profusely.After the lunch, we went for a maze training. Again, the BA is used...12.5kg on my shoulder. We crawl in the tunnel, and there are obstacles for us to climb here and slide there. It is fun actually, but becoz most of the time, we had to crawl for 40mins,i got bruises at both of my knee cap. However, i think it is worth it although strenuous coz i really need to use all parts of my body, esp the hands coz i need to lift up myself in the hole to another level. There is only one hole which supply a ladder for me to go down( think this hole is deeper than other holes?). there are also holes which dunhave ladders. I need to use a lot of hand energy to be exact(sliding, crawling, lift myself up, squeeze through a circular tunnel, some weird shape openings). I really sweat a lot but again i muz tell u that it is a very fun experience which i wud like to try again! The officers took a video for us for the presentation during the closing ceremony. As i leave the earliest (coz my partner wants to extend his service), they said after they make a video of it, they will pass me the cd. So cool lol. Left only 2 days....i am going to miss them very much; interns, scdf building, supervisor, colleagues, NSF men, some of the DARTS people.....Sigh...if my another internship aint starting on mon, i will extend my stay too! so sad.........

Early in the morning i bug my supervisor and asked her wat activities she has in store for us for the week! yeah...it is confirmed that we are going cda tmr! heard is damn fun....must take more pics for me to keep but too bad guys...i cant post all due to confidential reason but i guess i will post some soon...haha.
During the 1st break, we go and play pool. For lunch, we ate pizza in pizza hut at toa payoh hub. afterwhich we took a cab back to our office. we really enjoyed our lunch together...too bad the officers are not going with us...if nt we wud have given them a treat for taking care of us for the past few mths :)...the pizza ia ver nice and we also ordered side orders (drumlets, criss-cross fries, onion rings, pizzas, soups and drinks...some ordered more for themselves)....the total bill added up to 50plus for the 5 of us..haha...the meal is delicious and we eat until our heart is contented. So, we arrive back to the office with a bloated stomach. I think i have been eating more and more...coz i eat twice during the breaks and i have my lunch too...that means i have 4-5 meals per day lol! afterwhich, we wash the 993 HCV which is the red car in the pic (this is wat we intern gals requested from my supervisor). It is super fun..coz i nv wash car b4 and i feel privileged to wash an emergency vehicle..so damn cool! even the tap is different from outside!haha...the vehicle is now very clean...thanks to us lol...trust me, b4 the vehicle is washed, u can dirty ur hand just by putting them on the car..haha (the vehicle we washed is the very top pic).


i have to believe in fate! i met my sec sch classmates lol...ronald i met inside the mrt during bb station...i mean how can i meet him at this time in the same section of mrt. Actually he is just in front of me...this is fate lol. and i met iat fai at the scdf hq...saw him working there too lol.

cool vehicles that i have tried

a rather fulfilling day...

muahaha...early in the morning we hear more about scdf. It is quite cool actually, coz i am interested in knowing more abt what they do. We tried the bomb suit (a total weight of 30plus kg). It is a blue suit with a very heavy helmet which alone weighs 6kg. The instructor said it will strain the neck if move the head too much. Other than the helmet, i find the suit rather cool! (believe me...i look as though i have drank a lot of beer and become super pot-bellied) haha....there are so many functions which i don't know whether is confidential so i will have to keep this lock in my mind and not circulate ard. Took a pic of myself in the bomb suit but is guaranteed that this pic can only keep within myself so i cant paste the pic on this blog or else i get it from them lol.(but i can show u when u see me coz it is in my phone). After wearing the suit and the taking of photos, we tried the bomb dismantling machine...u know like those arcade games, u have a controller and u can manipulate the vehicle-like machine. It is quite fun to control the 6-wheeled vehicle.
Afterwhich, we walk ard the demonstration exhibits or watever they call it, and enter the vehicles which are dispatched during accident. It was an eye-opener. I learn more abt each hazard vehicle as i myself, too, am very curious and bombarded them with lotsa question. It is very interesting as i am a chemist,supposedly, and learning how they manage the industrial accident with these high-tech vehicles, make me excited lol. Haha...becoz ask too much qs, we dunget to visit the medical site to explore their vehicles...so i only get to know HAZMAT vehicles which my dept is in charge of. Oh well, haha....we also ask abt joining SCDF ( their core values :PRIDE and CARE)and stuff....scholar and a non-scholar really make a difference. Sian......i shd have studied more for my A level...shdnt slack too much during the exam period...haha...regretting now...deep sigh.....i can picture my parents saying, i told u so.

i am troubled with the thoughts of whether to join the government sector or the private sector; both have their disadv and adv...but i cant decide now. I shall see what the private sector offers for my next internship. Oh well, i juz need to make a decision a few mths b4 i grad which i wud be doing so only after 3 yrs?haha...

i wud like to conclude today's post by saying...envy me right? too bad...what i have done cannot be done for the civilians...we are priviledged! once in a lifetime yeah! nanny-nanny-pool-pool...saying this makes me think of sw?? ho?? singing that song which has nanny-nanny-pool-pool inside. Haha...i can vividly rmb it lol...her facial expression and her voice look comedian when she said it..haha :P

another nice show...Witch Yoo Hee

haha...i just finished another k drama....'Witch Amusement' / 'Witch Yoo Hee'. This show is nt bad...abt 16 episodes in total.haha...seldom u will see 3 hot guys falling head over heels with the female lead! There are a few twists in the story..haha...but u will find urself hating some characters in the show. This is quite a worthwhile show coz for gals; u can see 3 shuai ges (for guys, u can see the cute female lead). Though the lead male is not exactly that shuai...but his actions are...so considerate, kind, passionate. He is always there to help the female lead. His killer body part is his big warm smile...always greeting the female lead with his dishes...so sweet.

This is the male character's favourite posture...haha....i like it

this is the another k drama i would like to recommend (besides fantasy couple). This is a slightly longer drama....a total of 20 episodes, compared to the usual 16 episodes. I quite like the storyline. It is focused primarily on the working life of an adult and how he become successful (there is an element of romance involved too).It is quite a humorous show too. Initially, i was condemning the male character coz i like the 2nd male character more ( he starred in fantasy couple...gt dimples leh...so shuai when he smile). However, as the episode progesses, i start to like the male character more (Kang Ho). He is well-versed in lots of area. he is nt useless at all...he is just lazy. When he works hard, he can be very charming...haha...especially the dance part and the seriousness when he learn sth...muahaha. I like his smile too....so cute...i think he has a pair of electrifying eyes...slowly got 'dianed' by him. haha....
btw,i think the bad eggs can really act...make my blood boil and feel like thrasing them...haha.



i am watching 'love truly' (trying hard to find the rest of the episodes!) and 'Witch Yoo Hee' k drama and a taiwan drama called '換換愛'. If gt time, haha...maybe can watch some tvb drama ba...haha

watched another k drama

haha...i would like to give a brief comment abt the kdrama that i have recently watched. The title is called 'Snow white'. There is an unexpected twist in the story. Though the storyline is nt as good as 'fantasy couple', it makes me want to watch the next episode coz a question will keep popping up in my head at the end of each episode; What will occur after this?...haha...hmm...the female lead's love life revolves ard 2 brothers. I wo'nt tell ya whom she chose at the end.haha. I cant stand the specs...it is is obselete lol. From episode 1 onwards, i have been asking the scriptwriter this question: when does he want the main female lead to remove her glasses lol. In addition, the curly hair and the ponytail make her look weirder. Finally at the 10th episode (if i din rmb wrongly)...she had a makeover. She really looks splendid; very beautiful lol. haha...the glasses are too much le...so ugly. Maybe coz if she wore a nice specs, then she wud still look pretty? haha..u can really see the huge difference!

did some work today...haha...and play pool during my breaks...so cool wor. After a few rds of playing, i can get the ball into the holes and know the rules of the game le...muahaha...so, anyone wants to play pool, jio me k?

haha..today, i upload the rest of the photos and do some reaarrangement to my thumbdrive as well as dl those nice nice songs....haha. Whole day i was facing the com..haha. watched 'fantasy couple'...a very good korea drama (nice storyline!) which i recommend watching (besides 'my girl'; nt the same as 'my sassy girl'). i watch it in youtube...only manage to get hold of episode 8-10,12,15 and final episode. Though i didnt watch the first few episodes....it is really funny even in the mid episode. The last few parts are very touching, my tears keep welling in my eyes...haha...on the verge of crying.This kind of korea show can really make me cry and touches my heart. Anyone who knows where i can watch the rest of the episodes, do tell me ya? Thanks in advance!

i went JI today.

yep, in the morning, as usual, i report to my office at the 10th flr, which is just one level below the floor of commissioner's office. But recently, i got the contractor pass so i duneed to wait for NSF men to escort me le. but still, the access from outside into the office wud require NSmen to press the button for us to enter. haha....being a bit lerthargic today, i went to darts unit to join my friend ( i think a lot of things are confidential so it is best for me nt to divulge anything). Dart unit is a special unit rescue team...an all-guys rescue team...mostly malays...haha think they are more fit? i watch their exercise for the whole morning, basically tying ropes and mastering the methods of coming from top to bottom and vice versa. This needs strength and perserverance coz as long as helmet is put, u can really feel the heat. Some are sweating like crazy, can see the sweat coming out from the holes of the breathing apparatus.
haha...in the afternoon,reached jurong island at ard 3pm. The place is very near tuas i mind u. haha...except the part that u need pass, plus security is very tight (NSF men holding guns)and the place being very inaccessible (no SBS BUS,haha) , and the scent is different (fuel smell) and the place is warm. we got a tour ard JI. see those familiar stuff that i have been researching on...cylinders and stuff which i learn in lectures. we passed by ICES...HAHA..it is damn further down of JI...is at the region of reclaimed land.then we went for a drink in cafetaria...nt very clean...looks a bit old...gt houseflies flying abt...this is irritating.

we went chemgallery in JTC, which is basically petrochem gallery and saw the familiar companies that lecturers talk abt...like exxon,shell,bayer, mitsui.... they even gt a 3D-periodic table...haha(real materials for each element...lol).
The last stop is at fire station. There is a lot of fire engines, a greater no. compared to the scdf HQ. some of us tried the fireman suit....haha...very hot...yep...luckily the weather when we wear the suit is quite cooling......haha... and 1st time trying breathing thru the breathing apparatus...was a gd exp!

oh well, my supervisor said it will be more tough when we go CDA lol...wear suit and crawl thru tunnel...dunno wat tear gas spray on us....but i am looking 4ward to it!
and hor, dunno why recently my supervisor called me haha....must have thought we went shopping..which is a no yet, although i have considered that. But she keep contacting me leh, and not my partner...so,even if my other friends really go out, i might have to stay in office and join the other intern le..haha

fulfilling week

haha....yah...gt miss me mah? i had a fufilling week i guess. Meeting up with friends just to chat.I dunhave this luxury during school term. Enjoyed my time walking aimlessly in shopping centres and sitting ard for a chat....i realise i have missed this so much. :) However, i myself, am a plain person, so i din take any pics for them to be post here. But i promise that next time i will take some pics with u guys k? haha...cannot be camera shy anymore...if nt i will regret for nt rmbing abt the moments that we once shared....( i know some are really busy and is very very very very rare for us to meet up). Also, i promise to update the taiwan travel very soon....haha..shd be able to do so this weekend ba since i am nt really meeting up anyone for a chat this weekend.

p.s. i gt take a few pics of elvin coz i went to the bugis this sun and see him in person...so shuai lol...however, my camera is nt a gd camera so cant really see elvin pic clearly :(
